NCIMI draws to a close

Following four years of working to transform healthcare through artificial intelligence and medical imaging, NCIMI draws to a close this month.
One of five centres of excellence funded by Innovate UK in 2019, NCIMI has worked as a launchpad to improve the healthcare industry through the use of AI to generate new insights which will benefit everyone.
We are immensely proud of what has been achieved across our collaboration of hospitals, academics, patients, charities and industry experts.
We have connected 12 NHS Trusts from across England and Scotland to our network of commercial AI developer partners. With Innovate UK’s support, we’ve enabled imaging data flows from regional, speciality, and teaching hospitals across the UK for the first time. The range of data we have gathered is critical in the development and validation of AI tools that can be used to promote patient care in the NHS.

We have also developed a series of Impact Films highlighting six of our projects, offering a snapshot of the 16 exemplars we progressed.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to our partners and team for their hard work and support over the past four years. We are planning a close-out event in April where partners will come together to share success and learnings.
